    Holley Carburetor ID needed

    Greetings!

I'm trying to identify a Holley 4 barrel carburetor that was on my car
when I bought it last summer. There were a lot of "incorrect parts" on this
motor and I've brought it back to nearly 100% correct. Now I just need to
find as close to correct - a Rochester Quadrajet. It can be from 1970-1974.
So long as it's for a 4 speed and without emission control.

Anyway, the Holley has the following stamped on it:

Note: Some of these numbers/letters were somewhat hard to read.
I think I may getting to the point of having to get the "B" lenses in my
glasses. I keep telling myself I don't need them. But Father time is catching
    up with me.

Passenger side on center neck: The letter G or a #6 R followed by 42378.
The lower plate: 1ZR5395, followed by either an 8 or B.

    Thank you.

The numbers you mentioned do not help in identifying the carburetor. Someplace on the carb, there should be a Holley "list" number and a GM part number IF the carb was used on a GM car, PRODUCTION or SERVICE.

Holley carbs were originally used on very few 1970-74 Corvettes---only 1970-72 LT-1 and 1971 LS-6. I expect what you have is an aftermarket Holley.

      Joe,

      Thanks for the info.
      The next chance I get,
I'll look to see if I missed a set of numbers.

        Joe,
I looked at the Holley this evening and found a two more, pronounced
numbers. 7866 and below it, 62102. Does this help identify as a GM Holley?
        Thanks.

Well, the "7866" MIGHT refer to a Holley R-7866. The problem is I have no record of such a carb number. Could it be 7855? That would be a Holley model 4175 Q-Jet replacement carburetor, never used for any PRODUCTION application.

Is the carburetor a spread-bore type carburetor? In other words, does it have small primary bores and very large secondaries? Does it bolt onto a Q-Jet manifold?

              Re: Holley Carburetor ID needed

Joe W the numbers 62102 identify your carb as Holley 6210 spread bore. Owners switched to Holley spread bores to replace the QJet carbs that leaked fuel into the intake and in a lot of cases the owner would have to crank on the car long enough to get the mechanical fuel pump to pump fresh fuel into the QJet so the automobile would start if the car sat overnight. The 6210 is a Holley 650 cfm emissions type Holley. Fuel management was good and good gas mileage could be obtained from the Holley 6210 spreadbore. The 6210 is also an double pumper, in that the driver has 100% manual control of the primary and secondarys. The Holley 6210 is also a direct bolt on to the QJet intakes. With the Holley there would be no draining of the fuel like the QJet and it would produce a quick start more than 24 hours after the last drive.
Holley sold the 6210 as an direct bolt on replacement for the QJet. Holley is selling Qjet carburators and will rebuild them now.
