Do you still have the tray for your '72 or is it missing altogether? If you have it and it needs repair, you can send it to Jim Walluk in NY or you can do it yourself. There is an excellent article in the last issue of the Mich chapter magazine VetteSignal that details the repair written by Don Lowe.

James, when I bought my car it had a repo tray that was about two inches shorter than original, but I also got the original tray. The original tray was in pretty bad shape, the lips were broken and the flock was all gone. One side was even broken.

I sent it to the NCRS member in NY that Reba mentioned and was amazed what he had done with my tray. It looks like new! Give him a call. Maybe he has some original trays that he can restore.

No, unfortunately I do not have the original (deeper) tray to restore.

Paragon indicates in their catalog -
Page 148, part No.3764 Rear storage compartment tray,
original style fiber. Depth varies, so consult a judge before purchasing.
As for a price, they list Call.

They also list a plastic replacement tray for $33.00.

I have found that Paragon's selection and reproductions are very good,
better than many of the other sources out there. Plus they offer 10% for
NCRS members. In addition, they stock a lot of N.O.S. parts as well.

My guess is that the Paragon "reproduction" is likely a used original which has been reconditioned (or, not reconditioned). That's further supported by the "call" for price. With used/reconditioned pieces like these, Paragon usually shows the "call" for price and availability.

The other possibility is that a reproduction is finally "in the works" but not available at the time the catalog went to the printer.

If anyone calls and finds out, I'd like to know.
