    C4 Convertible Hardtop

    Hello NCRS Members.

I have recently become the owner of a 1989 that originally had a hardtop when built and I am searching for the replacement and trying to find information and recommendations on the numbers and original manufacture of the hardtop. From what I have found ASC was a manufacture and I am trying to confirm if there are particulars that are not summarized in the judging manual.

Thanks for the insight and response.

The hardtops were manufactured by ASC Corporation in a plant they set-up not too far from the Bowling Green Corvette assembly plant.

The 1989-90 top assembly was GM #10132803. This was for the complete assembly, ready to bolt on the car save for paint.

The 1991 top assembly was GM #10181360. It also serviced 1989-90.

The 1992-96 top assembly was GM #12508700. It serviced 1989-91, too.

I do not know how the above tops differ from one another, but they should all be functionally interchangeable.

The GM #12508700 was discontinued several years ago.

Your best bet for a replacement is to find a good used top. Preferably, I would look for one known to have been originally installed on an 89-90.
