    1967 427 #s back side

Should the backside be painted the same as the hood, or be bare like right out of the box?

Are you talking about the hood itself or the numbers that bolt thru the sides of the "bulge"

The numbers are installed just as they come out of the box, per the assembly manual. The underside of the hood has previously had blackout paint applied as part of the body paint process.

          Bill,

Are you saying they lack any blackout? I think this is what I am reading, but I had been informed by others that they were blacked out so not I'm confused (as usual).

          Thanks!

            Keith, Joel
            Here's the deal....
NO BLACKOUT! It just looked that way after many years of association with engine compartment grime.
            The numeral stems remain chrome.
The speed nuts, however, were black phos with black dum-dum inside of them.
Same for the scoop trim, the bolts were black phos.
            All installed AFTER blackout.

Thanks Mike! The black phos speed nuts must have been what reinforced my perception.

That is one of the things I love about this hobby, continuous learning!

Here is a very nice picture of a well known 67 14K mile bowtie car I took a couple years ago.
