    '62 Jack

I have not had an original jack, but I do have the repo jack. When placed in the spare tire, the screw that operates the jack, is longer than the dia. of the rim. It makes it so that the jack does not settle into the rim for storage and makes the jack rock in it's storage place. Is the repo screw to long?

Original jacks also rock in the spare tire. Repro screw is exactly the same length as original.
Dummy me--back in 75 I took a hacksaw to my first 62's original jack and shortened it by 3/4" so that it fit better. I don't tell many people that because I'm so proud of myself!

I have an original in my 62 and it also rocks back and forth. I put some old towels under it as a cushion. Rich

If a guy did what Mike did to his jack, I wonder if a new screw could be bought?
