Hello, brand new to NCRS. Recently bought a '65 coupe that I'm going to restore to it's original glory. At some point in the cars history, rear flares were installed. It looks like the original bonding strips are still there. I purchased a set of Sermersheimer's (press molded) quarters to install. I'm looking for a good book with illustrations as to the best way to tackle this. Can anyone recommend a good fiberglass book specific to Corvettes? Thanks in advance for you help!

Re: Best publication for panel replacement
James,
I haven't had to refer to it, but some time ago I purchased a book from Eckler's entitled "Fiberglass Body Repair" (or something like that--I'm at work), which seems to have pretty good step-by-step photos and instructions. In fact, it may even have a wheel flare removal/repair article.
I recall there also being article(s) in one or more of the magazines on flare removal (Corvette Fever and/or Vette), but you'd have to contact them to determine which year/month.
Good luck,

I agree that the Eckler's book is great but it may be hard to find now days. Eckler's does have a couple of videos on the subject available now, but I haven't viewed them.- Top
