    54 Ignition harness

Ok again it's still the horn thing, remember the doink, this was with the 8 volt battery in, was told the black wire from the solenoid was weak so replace it, well I thought why not clean the terminals at the ignition switch, that was it, horn was fixed, judging end of june better get the original look 6 volt in the car, horn now doinks again but with a lead from battery to horn relay horn is fine, so I buy the new original style harness and install and still no luck. Is it from the ignition switch to the horn relay since a lead from the battery to the relay starts the horn working, have checked voltage from horns on back and seem fine, what are points deductions if horn only doinks and could I run a lead for judging to show horns work? Someone has had to have had this same problem I would guess. Thanks and back again Brad.

Doink will be a standard operations deduct. Judges won't allow you to run a wire to show it works. It will have to work as intended.

Reply to Roy, have popped cover off of horn relay and points close when honking, tech says it is fine, have run hot from battery to horn relay and horn works fine, installed new harness from starter, start relay back to ignition switch no luck, am not getting power I need to horn relay, tech said everything is reading correct voltage in and out, something simple is eluding me. HMMMM? Brad

PS Can one get a top flight with the 8 volt battery in so the horn works or go with 6 volt and get deductions for the horn not working, which is best? Who is the man on fixing this problem, have done everything and I mean it all, no guiseing please need have done it before answer, thanks Brad

Neither problem will keep you from NOT getting a top flight if most other stuff is up to par.

Thanks Wayne for your input, but do you know of a similar problem like mine or what would you do if you had the same exact situation, I feel like Im forgetting one simple thing, what else could I clean or check to get the thing working as original? Any one else, June 29 judging and starting to sweat, Everything else works fine. Thanks again Brad.
