C3 - Hood Insert Paint

Looking to repaint the inserts on my '71 LT-1 hood. Are they supposed to be flat or semi gloss black?

Hi Robert,
The 70-72 Tech Manual states that the inserts are semi-gloss black with chrome edges. Exterior, Section 8; Hood, Windshield Vent Grille and Wiper Door.

Actually, I would call the paint used on these inserts semi-flat black, not semi-gloss. There is a difference between semi-gloss black and semi-flat black, although it's obviously hard to describe. In fact, I would call the paint on the inserts closer to flat black than it is to semi-gloss black.

Krylon 1613 is a semi-flat black. I would say that the paint on these inserts is flatter than 1613.
