1975 Heater Core Housing Repair

I figured that before the engine goes back in the '75, I should change the heater core and evaporator, since both heat & a/c were inoperable when I brought her home, and I don't want to tackle this job with the engine in, and fresh paint on the fenders.

When going under the dash for the heater core, it is apparent that "Bubba" had been there, and used a hatchet instead of a socket to get the heater housing from the firewall/evap housing.

There are 2 "ears" broken off ( and long gone )of the housing, which I believe that I can fab.....Has anybody had any luck performing this type of repair?

Read Scott Sinclair's article of spare tire tub repair in the last issue of the Corvette Restorer. It is the same principal and procedures

I read the article when it came out....I just wasn't sure if standard "resin/cloth" was the right material for this job.
