Thanks Gary, It will give me something else to search the world over until I find the correct ones. I love this hobby!- Top

Re: Need Photo of '70-'72 LT1 Carb Throttle Arm........
Holleys with center hung floats need additional clearance for the float adjustment nuts. Single feed Holleys don't have these.
You are correct about the "open element" air cleaner, but for 1965 this only applied to the L78. Any 1965 with SBC did not use the open element air cleaner. The open element air cleaner was typically 1"-2" wider than the older, closed style, and so, "dropped down" an additional 1"-2".
I'm fairly sure that all BBC with Holley used dual feed. Certainly, all 1966-67 L79 and L75 used single feed model 4160 Holley.

Well, that worked. The photo shows the top of the hex head bolts. They have a very clear "channel" on the top that can be seen in the left hand bolt. You can also see the french locks. Why I haven't bent them up, I don't know. In addition, the bolt heads aren't as tall as a normal one would be. They are definetly shorter for some reason.
Does this help?

Here's an 'equivalent' picture of Holley + idle stop solenoid and throttle linkage from a '71 LS6 Bowtie car. Note the solenoid bracket bolts are recessed hex head with dichromate wash to color coordinate with the bracket and French lock. The key differences are the list number of the Holley carb and the use of a CEC vs. conventional idle stop solenoid...Last edited by Jack H.; August 4, 2008, 08:20 PM.- Top

Yes, for 1965 the only open element air cleaner was the L-78. However, I was only talking about Holley carburetors used with open element air cleaners. So, for 1965, I was only talking about L-78 Holley carburetors.
For 1966-67 all Holley 4 barrel carburetors were "side float" except 1966 L-72 and 1967 L-88. However, I believe that the same "drop down" base configuration was used for them as for those applications with center float Holley carbs (except L-88, of course). In other words, I think the bases had clearance for center float type carbs whether or not the application used a center float carb. I'm not 100% sure of this, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Ok, first ever attempt at uploading a photo. I have no clue if this will work.

Here are a couple of pictures of the linkage and idle stop solenoid bolts on my 72 LT-1 with air. My french locks are also not bent over and it looks like they have never been bent.Attached Files- Top

The center-hung float adjuster nuts are somewhat taller than the side-hung adjusters. They are also on-center of the bowl, whereas, the side hung are slightly off-center. I'm not sure, either, whether a 1966-67 SBC/L36 style base will fit on a L72/LT1/Z28 carburetor. It is possible, though.
Reason I brought it up is that somebody posted elsewhere that my (L76) air cleaner base would not fit on a dual feed Holley because of the throttle linkage, AND, the float adjusters.
