    C1 Steering Column Firewall Plate

On a C1, there's a plate that mounts on the firewall that goes around the steering column, and seals it where it passes through the firewall. It's black. What shade of black? Gloss?

    Semi-gloss - it was dip-primed.

      Christopher,

The Seymour Hi-Tech Lacquer in Semi-Gloss, p/n 16-838, is a great choice. I used it for virtually everything that was semi-gloss black.

It was in place when the engine compartment was blacked out so it should be black out color on the engine side.

Were all those various firewall riveted nut plates dip primed as well? For example, the hood latch mount plates.

When I disassembled mine, all the plates on the firewall as well as latches and fasteners had received some level of blackout coating so the original finish was covered.
