    Classic car insurance

Any suggestions on the best insurance company for my 67 and 54? I just got my renewal from J.C. Taylor and the want me to get both cars appraised. They are insuring the cars, why don't they send someone to look at them from their company.

Hi Ben. My suggestion is Hagerty. All they need is 2 pictures of your car, 1 inside a garage. BE SURE you get an agreed value on it. Bill

I have been with Hagerty for 8 years. The first car was a Pontiac GTO and they wanted 2 photos. When I sold the GTO and switched to the Corvette, no questions asked, no photos and no appraisals. I had a major claim in 2005 of 12.5k and they handled the claim without any problems or issues. Due to the appreciation and improvements in the car, I increased the insured value to 70k last year. The annual premium increase was minimal and the premium was not increased due to the 12.5k claim. Would I recommend Hagerty? You betcha!!

        I have Hagerty.

When you start a policy on a collector car they want pictures and the price that you want the car insured to. If it is a resonable value for the car? No problem. It's when you think it is worth more than they do that you need an appraisal.

I have had the car insured with them for over three years now and I have raised the amount three times over the years and once was on their recommendation to raise it.

I think their rates are very resonable compared to having the Corvette on my daily driver policy with State Farm before switching to Hagerty.

They also have a nice newletter/magazine that they send out and I think you can also get towing on your policy which would be with a flatbed tow truck.

I haven't looked around because I am happy.

Go woth Hagerty, I've used them for many years and had my first claim this past winter for a cracked windshield. They handled the claim process in a very professional manner and paid for a new date coded glass based on a estimate from OEM glass. It was over in a week. Very good company.

I also have Hagerty and have nothing but praise for their coverage vs. cost and Customer Service....

I've had Hagerty for a few years on my 57. Definitely would recommend them!

I formally had Grundy. When I heard about them not paying off on hail damage a couple of years ago, I switched to Hagerty. I learned of that on this board, and I've never heard a complaint about Hagerty.
