1970 Registry Updated

Now that I figured out my way through the maze to get back in here and remembered my login info.... I thought I'd let you know that with much help from Scott, Mike & Kurt we have a new registry database online. I've also moved it from hosting on CF to a new server which will make things infinitely easier to maintain! Bear with us while we overhaul all the links and such for the resources & photo library. But for now the car data has been updated (with the exception of a stack of snail mail entries I haven't yet logged).

We're got 1596 cars registered of the 17316 built. That's 9.22%.

Juliet, your faithful efforts to establish and maintain the 70 Registry have been a great benefit to 70 owners. You have our gratitude...we are really fortunate you didn't stumble across a 69 or a 71 when you contracted the Fever.

Thanks guys. I'm glad it's useful. And as Scott pointed out, I do get a lot of help with the registry. That's the only reason we're NOW slowly crawling out from under the pile of data that's accumulated (and buried me!) the past 18 months or so.

BTW, I doubt I would have started the registry if I had stumbled onto another year car. What started the whole thing was the fact that Mike Antonick's black book didn't have any specs on how many of what color were built in 1970. And further digging revealed that GM didn't have the numbers anymore either.

I think the hunt is the fun part. That's why so many of us go off the deep end with this hobby. If the car's weren't bottomless sources of questions with endless variations and nuances in the answers we wouldn't have so much fun on these archaeological expeditions! ~Juliet

Hi Tony! You guys are starting to embarrass me now. How about giving us some ideas about how to better organize the information? It's somewhat evolved into a bit of a disaster zone since it started in 2000, and one of the things we're trying to do during the transition to the new host is reorganize all the files / photos / information. A lot of that is behind the scenes stuff (like putting the car pics into directories by 1000 cars instead of one massive directory)... But we need to restructure the resources section somehow. Make things more logical and easier to find. So does anyone have suggestions on how to improve things? Thanks, ~Juliet
