Have the option to buy a 1986 roster red on red with 23,000 miles second owner or a 1988 black coupe 6 speed with 63,000 also the second owner don't much about the C4 what do you think would be the better investment

Re: C4
In addition to Mike's fine points, resale on a manual trans car is Iffy at best in the C-4 arena unless it's mated to a DOHC engineBill Clupper #618- Top

Re: C4
I'd say that the '86 is a better car to purchase because the roadster and low mileage should outweight the 6 speed. What's the difference in price between the cars?- Top

Re: C4
In 88 the manual transmission was a 4 plus 3 not a 6 speed. These transmissions are great when they work but can be problematic if not sorted out previously. I would always go for the lowest mileage car even though I prefer coupes.- Top
