Spark plug wires

I am new to the resoration process and I am confused. I have a '59 which does not use "dated" spark plug wires.
When I look in the normal catalogs for spark plug wires I get the following:
"Reproduction Spark Plug Wire Sets Correct Wires and Ends - Non Dated."
Price: $39.95

Same catalog next facing page: "Correct Spark Plug Wires contain the correct factory script and dates as well as the correct spark plug boots.... Cars built before January '61 did not use dated wires."
Price: $75.00

Why would I spend the extra $35.00?

Although not dated, there was printing on the wires that differs from that available today. The cost to the manufacturer is the wheel and the printing process, regardless of dating or just a unique wording. I believe they were printed "GM Radio" but I'd have to dheck my foles to make sure...

the originals were ink stamped TVRS and further along the wire's insulation, they were stamped GM RADIO. i hate the non-steel cored plug wires that are sold as repos. one or two tugs to remove the plug wire from the spark plug and its misfire city. i had the stamps ( two seperate stamps with TVRS and another with the GM RADIO) made locally and make up my own plug wires using delco packard 440 plug wire which is steel cored and last forever if you don't cook the nsulation on an exhaust manifold. mike
