    C1 Power Top Spacer 4149726

My '58 is missing the spacers that go at the bottom of the lift cylinders for the top. These are the ones that go on both sides of the mount and the clevis pin goes through them. In the AIM these show as part 4149726. Does anyone know of a source for these or a substitute method of fabricating them? Thanks, Ted

There the same brackets used for the seat belts, any corvette dealer selling parts should have them. No big deal.

Roy, I have the brackets. I'm looking for the little plastic spacers (or bushings - in the AIM they call them spacers) that go on each side of the brackets, They go on each side then the lift cylinder bottom slides over the bracket with these in place and then the clevis pin goes through the bottom of the lift cylinders. They look kind of like the shift linkage bushings only there black and rounded on the larger end. Thanks, Ted

Yes sir. That's what I'm trying to find.

Roy a couple of questions. The deck lid doesn't appear to open quite far enough for the top to clear the male portion of the lock. It feels like it's at the end of the limits for the hinges. If I loosen the nuts at the bottom of the rods the springs are mounted on I assume that will allow it to physically go up a little higher. Is this correct?

Also do you put anything on the pipe threads when you assemble the hoses to the control valves? We're having some leaking problems.

          Thanks, Ted

First undo the soft top cylinder at the end in the trunk , then lift the lid to see if you have more distance . If you do you can add shims under the soft top lid bracket the piston connects too ( three holes ) there are shims designed the same to do that. Or the micro switch can be readjusted to close later then sooner. Don't fool with spring nuts. You can use pipe nylon white tap at the control valves ,the pistons use a rubber O-ring .
Because your a PT guy send me your address and I'll send you the the four clevis pin spacers ,I don't need them.
