repaint 58-60 front/rear emblem

I have some service replacement front and rear emblems on my 59 where the "V", lettering, flag poles, etc is silver. Has anyone attempted to remove the silver electroplating and repaint these gold with any success? If so, how did you go about removing the silver electroplating? ...or does someone have the contact info for a good vacuum metalizing shop that can mask it up and do it in gold-chrome?

FYI, I used Easy Off oven cleaner and masked the flags and was able to remove all the silver paint (it's actually paint in there). So now I'm going to repaint it gold. Wondering if anyone knows a good gold paint that would match the original gold emblems? If it turns out good, I could probably turn this into a nice little cottage industry :P
