    1966 Restoration Questions

I'm in the process of doing some final details on my '66 and have the following questions:
    1. where are the ID tags on the rear shocks positioned? Does it make a difference?
    2. the judging manual indicates that the front bumper braces are attached with four hex head bolts and 11/16th nuts which are black phosphate plated. There are also spacers which slot into the brace. Which parts should be black phosphated (the bolts, the nuts, the spacers, all)?

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: 1966 Restoration Questions

Shock ID stickers, along with numerous other tags/stickers, were applied by hand introducing a 'human factor' element in their specific placement. That's one of the reasons the suppliers of these reproduction tags do NOT tell you where to put them...

So, put yourself into the shoes of a judge working chassis on your car. Do you want to affix the label(s) in places that make it impossible to see/read/verify? How about slapping them in a place where they're easy to see through the coils of the springs....

Black phos bolts and nuts oriented with the heads inboard and nuts outboard. I believe the spacers (Crush Sleeves) were natural steel.

Thanks. That was my understanding as well and the way I'll go.
