1959 Corvette Tail Pipe adjustment

Hello all. I am trying to find out how far in or how far out the tail pipes should show through on the rear bumpers at the rear of the car. I am trying to get this car as perfect as I can for judging and I just want to be sure. Thanks to all! Rick

Well, since no one has replied with AIM, textbook or personal experience, I'll kick it off.
I've found the best method for beginning a discussion is the first answer.
So, here goes.... the tip should not extend beyond the bumper.
The tip should remain within the bumper opening by about one inch.
ok, NOW WATCH THE RESPONSES ROLL IN.

I agree Mike, but.............

I added short extentions to my 59 tailpipes to keep the bumpers cleaner and to prevent water vapor from dripping inside them. I didn't get any deducts at the Winter Regional. Although maybe they didn't notice.

I used to set mine about 1/4"-3/8" past the bumper so the dirty condensate dribbles didn't go down inside the bumper and rust it out from the inside.
