    Rear View Mirror

Is there any difference between a 64 or a 65 rear view mirror. is there a date code on the glass part?

    Thanks,

    Sam

Re: Rear View Mirror 64 and 65

If you have back up lights the day nite mirror housing is stainless and has no date. With out back up lights option it is a standard mirror chrome plated housing, crimped and has a date.

I have a 64 with back up lights, is this the same as a 65 non day night mirror?

        Hi Sam
'65 with Back-up Lights had the Day/Night mirror.

Hi Mike I am trying to find out if a rear mirror off a 65 non back light style. is the same as a 64 with back up lights. For the Silver 64.

          Thanks,

          Sam

            Sam,
The '65 Judging Guide states that there were two backs offered for the standard mirror, but, for now, let's ignore this for your discussion.
Fundamentally, the same two mirrors were offered for '64 and '65.
            1. The standard base mirror, with a manufacturing date in the lower right hand corner as described above.
Since your question is "would a non-Day/Night mirror be correct for a '64(your car)" No, as the dates would not be correct. It may, however, appear and function appropriately.
            2. Convenience group with Back-up Lights included the Day/Night mirror, with the flipper, non-dated, this style would interchange between the two years.
(Note: the "Flipper" configuration was changed for '67)
            Hope this helps.
