78 Pace Car Question: Plastic seat coverings

I know that ncrs does not judge the plastic on seats, but i would like your opinions about a question i was asked yesterday,,, I have a 78 pace car that still has the plastic on the seats and basically is a "wrapper" car,, the man that was looking at my car asked me,,"How do you know the plastic is still the original plastic?",, I said to him that ive owned the car now for 4 yrs and the car has been preserved as a new car,, why would me or the original owner do that?? He stated that the plastic should have a label or something to that effect saying "Do Not Remove" on the plastic.. Does anyone know if that is true?? thanks,, doug #44087

I have sold several "wrapper" pace cars and don't recall "Do Not Remove" on any of the seat plastic.

............................. Actually, the plastic WAS to be removed. By the dealer.

The steering wheel cover was to be removed by the customer.

The plastic is also tucked into the seat bucket...I've judged lots of Pace Cars and have never seen the "do not remove" tags

Doug, can you post a closeup of the seat belt covers?

Does seat hinge cover work better? They are secured with the chrome acorn nuts on each side of the seat...

Seat belt covers are those things that wrap around the seat belt reciever on the inboard side of the seat. Sorry for the confusion

It might have depended on which supplier the plant got their plastic protective covers from; photo below shows the original protective cover on a 1973 Vega seat, with "Dealer must remove cover" printed on it.
