    Tie rod support arm

I'm getting ready to paint my tie rod support arms and have a question. I have power stearing so my arms have the space saver rivet in the outer hole. Where these rivets placed prior to painting? Are they also painted or are they metal finished?

The rivets were installed at St. Louis as the front spindle/rotor assemblies (which included the steering arms) had no way of "knowing" whether they were going to be installed in a car with or without power steering. So, assuming your steering arms were originally painted, there should be no paint on the rivet.
