    1972 Protecto plate - decoding

    Another question.

The month produced code - is this the same code that appears on the trim tag (my trim tag build date is K14= June 14) or should the code be F for June as per AIM?

    Thanks

I think it should be a "6" in this case.

Thanks Joe. I do not think it is a number 6. I could be wrong, but the AIM's book calls for the letter F for A June build date car. Is there anyone else with more definitive information?

I agree with Joe. A 6 should be present in the date position for a June car.

I agree; the alpha character system is what the AIM describes. However, I don't think it was actually done that way. Why the difference, I do not know.
