Sorry for the inconvenience, but I had a typo in one of the web addresses on the video. Here is the link to the corrected N11 video clip (64 FI roadster):

      Re: N-11 off-road reproductions

      Joe,
I contacted Corvette Central yesterday and the tech person that I spoke with reacted as if I was from Mars when I asked about the status of the new exhaust system. He insisted that there'd be no reason for CC to purchase components from an outside vendor since they manufacture everything themselves. I referenced our discussion last month and asked if there was anyone else that might have some information. He referred me to "Dave." I called him, but the call was screened and I was told that Dave wasn't available. I left a message in his voice mail, but haven't heard back from him yet. Without jeopardizing your relationship with CC, do you have any idea as to when this will be ready for sale?
Much thanks for providing the update!
      Cheers,
      Jeff

        Hi Jeff,
I think it's best if you follow up with Dave at Corvette Central Exhaust next week. I understand he is the right person to talk to!

              Re: N-11 off-road reproductions

              Joe,
Thanks for the updated sound clip. They sound pretty good to me, but I don't have much of a frame of reference. Any opinions out there from those who might have experience with the old N11's?
Regardless, Corvette Central is accepting orders (placed mine today ), projecting a shipping date of August 15. Part #322104 (2 1/2"). $336 plus shipping. These are aluminized but Dave at CC indicated that non-aluminized may be available in the future. You can view them at the CC online catalog by punching in the part #.
              Cheers!

                Re: N-11 off-road reproductions

Now when someone combines these mufflers with Gardner's correctly-bent pipes, we'll have quite the system!

Probably not impossible to buy both and do some "mix and match" of components, but it'd be far easier if Waldron and Gardner worked together.

                  Patrick -

I finished my article for CE on the system yesterday and had both Waldron's (Joe Tonietto) and CC review it, and Corvette Central Exhaust has built tooling that flattens the top and bottom of the pipes (without creating an oval shape in the process) so they look like the originals.

                    John,

I know that they've added the "flattened" shape. It's the bends that they do not reproduce correctly at Corvette Central as they show the usual aftermarket "shoe prints" at the bends. So, there will be deductions in configuration and finish, not just finish. Gardner's has the correct bends AND the correct flattened profile, but is also aluminized so is also "not correct" on the finish.

I don't mind an aluminized system and the associated points deductions, but I would (personally) appreciate a correctly bent system much more. Since Gardner so far is only interested in high performance applications, the majority of us with regular motors don't benefit much at all.

Tom and/or John - you are obviously close to the source (and I know you are close to Werner's shop); would these pipes and mufflers also fit on a 68 L71 car?

                        Erik,

I believe that midyear style mufflers are coming out first.
I've encouraged them for 68 and later cars, but have heard no definite date or plans.

Patrick, they will do the other systems once they get patterns. Original exhaust systems are hard to come by.

                            Yes, but definitely not impossible.

Saw some at Bloomington, and there's an NCRS member selling some pipes over on CF for what I thought was a very good price. My guess is that Gardner doesn't frequent the usual Corvette board for the purpose of looking for pipes.

Maybe we could get Joe L to send them a reference copy for study.

                              Quick update:
Corvette Central has posted part numbers and prices for the complete, welded assemblies in both aluminized and regular carbon steel.

They are also offering the N-11 reproduction mufflers in a "service" type configuration (with the short inlet nipple) for those who want mufflers only.

They have also posted video clips here:
