67 back up lights

I was restoring my reverse lights on my 67. When I was glass beading the area where the bulbs are. I noticed a off white color paint on the housing in the bulb area. Is this correct? Their was over spray from a previous paint job that covered the white. Thanks

I believe the inside was painted dull silver.

Thanks Craig, I found an original back up light set on E Bay and in the photos you can clearly see that at one time their was white paint in the housing.Any one else find that in theirs? Thanks Pat
