I've removed the door panels on my 66 roadster for replacement and while I have them off I decided to diagnose some issues with the driver side window.
First, the rear of the window has moves freely (from the outside to the inside). I've determined it is because the guide block, attached to the window sash, is not running in the rear channel. It is to far forward to engage in the channel.
Second, there is a disconcerting grinding noise as I raise the window. I've determined this is caused by the window sash rubbing against the forward channel.
So the two issues are clearly related. Apparently the window sash itself is not positioned correctly and it is too far forward. I've been scouring the Chassis Service Manual and do not see an adjustment for this. My questions are as follows:

- Is there an easy remedy for this?
- Do I have to remove the regulator assembly and remove the window to get at the sash?
- Is it possible to push the window forward in the sash which would push the sash itself backward?
Cheers
