Re: 1996 question
The "special edition" Corvettes for 1996 were the Grand Sport and the "Collector's Edition". I'm assuming you're talking about the "Collector's Edition". This car was available only in silver and, as far as I know, no other 1996 Corvettes were available in silver. Also included were ZR-1 style wheels (but, not ZR-1 rear wheel widths) and special trim pieces, both interior and exterior. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1996 question
The Grand Sports were also sequentially serial numbered. 1 - 1000
Grand Sport Coupes had fender flares. Convertibles did not. ( Except for one )
Interiors choices for GS were red or black.
Collector Edition cars were available with black, red or gray interior.Tom Hendricks

Re: 1996 question
The 1996 Grand Sport was a limited production special version designed to commemorate the 1963 GS. Production run was limited to 1000 and all GS's received an exclusive special serial number, different brakes and wheels, Admiral Blue paint with white center body stripe and red hash marks on LF fender, LT-4 with 6-speed, and rear fender flairs (coupe). The Grand Sport Convertible is already a collectible and prices have been soaring recently.- Top

Re: 1996 question
Any other 1996 Corvette color could be ordered with the LT4 option. If you wanted a six speed in your 1996 Corvette, the only way was to order the LT4 engine option. All 330HP LT4 optioned Corvettes had manual six speeds and all standard engine 300HP 1996 Corvettes were automatics.- Top
