I want to know if a Corvette 1966 in the front spindle ends have a daub in orange paint some person say that beginning in 1967?

The practice dates WAY back... Here's what the new '63-64 "super-JG" has to say:
"The steerign knuclle (spindle and strut) is a natural finish forging with clean machined areas. Inspection paint markings, of various colors (typically orange) have been observed onthe vertical areas of the forging on some original cars."- Top

Actually, unlike 65 and later, a 63 or 64 front spindle would have been mostly covered in chassis black so none of the inspection marks would be visible.The practice dates WAY back... Here's what the new '63-64 "super-JG" has to say:
