Corvette 1966 spindle

I want to know if a Corvette 1966 in the front spindle ends have a daub in orange paint some person say that beginning in 1967?

Lius, 1966 Corvette #23514 has a dab of orange paint on the bottom of each spindle. Bill

The practice dates WAY back... Here's what the new '63-64 "super-JG" has to say:

"The steerign knuclle (spindle and strut) is a natural finish forging with clean machined areas. Inspection paint markings, of various colors (typically orange) have been observed onthe vertical areas of the forging on some original cars."

Actually, unlike 65 and later, a 63 or 64 front spindle would have been mostly covered in chassis black so none of the inspection marks would be visible.
