Hello again

This is my first post on the new board. I haven't been real active on the NCRS site for a while. We are rather 'Corvette poor' with 9 of the plastic fantastics, ranging from 57 to an 07 Ron Fellows Z06. (Both my wife's by the way!) Our real NCRS car is her 88 35th Anniv. (she bought new) that has received the McLellan Award and is the first 88 to receive the Crossed Flags Award. We are working on the 5th star which we hope to receive at the National in San Jose next year. (because it's close, only 1 1/2 hrs away)
Yes, I do own some of them also, 69, 72, 91 ZR-1. We 'partnered' on the 61 & 65 396 project. She traded her 04 LeMans Edition Z06 to a friend for his old hot rod 67 BB. We also have a handfull of other Chevys, so now that I have just retired, I will be able to keep plenty busy! I might even have time to ask a few questions.

Ken...You have no idea how hard it is for some of us to relate to a guy with a wife that owns more rare collector Corvettes that he does; Where did you find this woman? ROFL

I suppose they are also all restored to high percentage NCRS Top Flight, or Bowtie originals too...Did she do the restorations as well? MROFL...BahhhHaaaHaaaHaaaa

Well actually, the only NCRS car is the 88. My wife is a real car gal. (born in Detroit!). Just finished the 3 day high speed driving course at Spring Mountain. The best way to describe her is, 'my wife doesn't buy dancing shoes, she buys driving shoes.'

Very nice...Well, maybe they aren't all trailer queens, but they still have the crossed flags badge on them. I'm sure the fun dividend on those cars is much greater than that of a restored car we're afraid to drive.

On second thought, maybe you're not as lucky as I first thought. Most couples with similar interests have to figure out how to share the kitchen...it would be tough trying to learn to share the tools and garage with my wife. Congratulations on your cars and your marriage. Clearly, you are a man secure and confident in his own skin.

We're looking forward to hearing from you. You might also want to tell your wife about the separate accounts for family members that Rob was hyping...might be fun to see your wife and the Duke arguing about the best way to squeeze performance out of a small block Chevy.

Congratulations on the retirement Ken. I retired three years ago, and had a lot of friends say I would soon need to go back to work, to avoid being bored. I spend a least five hours aday tinkering with the restoration of my '67 convertible, and have not had one bored day yet. Now I also have time to attend NCRS events,, Bloomington, Vettefest, Expo, and throw in a few days at Carlisle every year. I'd say retirement fits in very well with a guy with Corvette in his veins.
