I want to rebuild my starter and am looking for the best source for parts like solenoid, brushes, and new brace mounting bolt.

Nick I don't know where the best place for you to get the parts. If I had a 63 starter that the solenoid is working okay now, I would only remove the retaining nut on the stud that the battery cable connects to and rotate the stud 180 degrees. The part of this you cannot see if this has not been done before will provide the other half of unused contact area.
I would go to a local gen/alt/starter rebuilder/repair shop and buy the starter brushes or to any GM parts counter, AC Delco auto parts store, or NAPA store.
Also check the bushings in the end plate and starter nose.

Any starter alternator rebuild shop will have those parts. You might as well let them rebuild yours, they'll also change the drive for you and do a full internal clean and test.
