I believe I understand the deductions in the judging manual, but if your car originally had blackwalls and you go to a white, red,or gold lines do you loose more points? Is this an acceptable service replacement upgrade? Were red lines available on a 66 ?

Re: 1966 repo tires
Your '66 would be judged as presented, with one of the available production tire choices, you would receive full credit, subject to how faithful they are compared to an original tire..
No, Redlines were not a regular production option in '66.

Re: 1966 repo tires
I don't think there is any way to tell if a '66 originally had black or whitewalls.
In '63 all base rayon cord blackwalls and optional nylon cord blackwalls got body color wheels, but I don't think this was the case in '66, and for '63 you just have to make sure your wheel color is correct for the installed tire sidewall treatment.
