    Intake Maniflods

Is there any such a thing as a "reproduction 302SBC intake maniflod" P.N: 14044836 sold by GMPP? I have seen this on another websight but cannot trace that part number......no how, no way!
    I'm looking to find either:
    3972110
    3972116
    3917610
    3932472 , for under 200 bucks

    Yeah......lotssa luck!
    Did I miss any.
Is there a really a repop available? With a snoflake?

I don't know whether you're talking about an authentic Z-28 manifold or just a manifold of that style. In any event, here's the deal:

    67-68 Z-28---GM CASTING #3917610; GM PART #3917608. Discontinued in July, 1969 and replaced by GM #3958627, the 1969 Z-28 manifold;

69 Z-28---GM CASTING #3932472; GM PART #3958627. Discontinued in September, 1974 and replaced by GM #3972114, the 1970 Z-28/LT-1 manifold

1970 Z-28/LT-1----GM CASTING #3972110 may also have used casting #3972116; GM PART #3972114. Discontinued in June, 1984 and replaced by GM #14044836; GM #14044836 discontinued without supercession in August, 1992.

1971-72 Z-28/LT-1---GM CASTING #3959594; GM PART #3991004; discontinued without supercession in October, 1982.

As far as I know, the above represent all of the Z-28 and LT-1 manifolds through 1972 (the last year for solid lifter Z-28's or Corvettes).

As you can see from the above, the GM #14044836 was a SERVICE-only replacement for the 67-70 Z-28 and LT-1 manifolds. It was very similar to the 1970 LT-1/Z-28 manifold. It's primary functional difference was wider gasket flanges in order to improve manifold-to-cylinder head sealing. I don't recall if the CASTING number was the same as the part number but it was an 8 digit number beginning with "140". As I recall, it was a Winters-manufactured manifold with a "snowflake".

There are no reproductions that I know of for any of the above manifolds. However, by now, there may be. If so, I would expect guys like Jerry MacNeish or "Hearbeat City" Camaro parts vendors to know about it.

      Thanks Joe...........

I'm looking for a "functional" replacement. Casting number not important. Forward config has three iterations, on these castings, concerning the locations of the thermostat housing, and its "clocking", the boss/tap for temp sender, and the presence or absence of a Dorman plug in the oil fill tube hole. The location and 'clocking" of the thermostat housing might pose interferance issues with the oil fill tube, in the event that the upper radiator hose is routed toward the drivers side, rather than the passenger side, as originally intended for Z28/LT1.
I'll call MacNeish............... he probably already owns most of the good castings available. I am $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ure that he'll try to help me, if he can.

The thermostat flange orientation on the 14044836 is different than either the 67-68 Z-28 manifold or the 1970 Z-28/LT-1 manifold. However, it's virtually the same as 1969 Z-28.

The "beauty" of going with the 14044836 is that it's not in demand by restorers because it was never used on a PRODUCTION vehicle. That means these sell for a lot less than original manifolds which were used on these cars. I've seen these 14044836 sell for as little as $125 in used but good condition. Also, you get the benefit of the improved flanges. You can be sure that GM did not make this change because the original flange configuration worked just as well.
