    C1 fan noise

Even with a fan clutch recently installed, I still get a LOT of fan noise on my '60.

Do I have unrealistic expectations, 'cause I can change?!!

Assuming that you have the correct fan installed and the correct (or, near correct) fan clutch installed, I'd say you have unrealistic expectations of what the fan noise ought to be.

If you are using a GM #3770529 fan blade assembly and a GM #3916141 fan clutch, that's as close as you're going to get to original specs.

      Thanks Joe -

I kinda thought that might be the case. Just wanted to make sure that these things weren't running quietly right off the assembly line.

When I'm ready for a new exhaust system, I'll just have to get one that's loud enough so I can't hear the fan!

      Thanks for your input...

Matt - I agree with your planned answer to dealing with excessive fan noise. Works every time. And can also get rid of lousy Wonderbar AM radio reception issues - not to mention irritating squeaks and rattles throughout the car. Of course, ear plugs or my hearing can do the same thing.

Or do like the the dipstick does and install a fiberglass fan on all his cars...
