    Mine is M9 = December 1969.

    No "I" for jacks, at least in 1969.

    I recall the front of one of the editions of the Pocket Spec Guide that had a general explanation of when the “I” was used, and when it was not. In general, for stamps “I” is NOT used, and for castings it IS used. One should be cautious, however, since there is one situation, and I cannot now recall what part it is, that is an exception.

          Thanks for posting the pic! I see that your thrust bearing is also painted. My brother's was also on his '69. Yours looks new compared to mine.
