    Forward gauge consoles

What are the differences between the 1969 and 1970 Corvette forward gauge consoles? Texture?

    Thanks,
    Scott

If you're talking about the BEZEL surrounding the center gauge cluster, there was no difference between 1969 and 1970. 1968 is different, including a smooth finish rather than the "textured" finish for 1969-70.

Part numbers were the same? Dated?

Same exact part number for both years. If I recall correctly, there is a date on the rear of these things. It's like a circular sort of thing with "wedges" around the perimeter. The year is in the center of the circle and the "wedges" denote the month and, perhaps, day. It's totally moot, though; no one can see this once the bezel is installed.

Thanks, Joe. That puts to rest a position an acquaintance took about the 1970 being unique to 1970. I knew 1968 and 1971-72 were unique to those models.

1971 is the same as 69-70. 1972 is different.

By golly you're right! I even checked Paragon after I read your response. Glad I asked. Thanks.

I'd like to comment that recently I was able to inspect a reproduction bought by a 69 owner in my country and, contrary to other reproduced items, it is rather well made, the texture is quite correct.

Don't remember very well now, but I think there is a minute difference in the red lens area, as the JG says.

The Central Gauge bezel is a good reproduction.

                Best regards
