Re: "Rare Optioned" 1963 Convertible for sale on eBay
Well, the T86 would have been a pretty rare option that year (assuming it was factory delivered). Obviously, his info on the tail lights is way off base. I can think of a lot of adjectives for the 6 tail lights, but "Holy Grail" would not be among them.- Top

Nice looking car and if the paint is original it's even more cool. The whole bit on the 6 taillights is complete bunk. I've never liked that look.
Interesting that he would expound on the rarity of the car coming without the ragtop only to brag about the amount of time and money spent to add the folding top to the car later.
As you've already implied, there is nothing particularly rare or hard to find here other than the "possibility" that the paint is still original.

Re: "Rare Optioned" 1963 Convertible for sale on eBay
I have a Daytona Blue 63 with 44.5 k on it, and it was repainted once in 1976. This one looks as good as mine. I specially covet his hard top rear window. Mine has only been on the car when I move it (6 times since 1963), and it still came down with little fine stress cracks from aging. I have always kept mine on a sling hoist in my garage.
Things look pretty good under the hood except for the Air Cleaner, Dual Master, and how about that Aluminum Aftermarket Radiator?
Can any one tell if the rim mounted tires are bias ply?
All in all, compared to some presentations I've seen, this one gets a "B" with accuracy coming in at a "C+". The presenter put a good "spin" on it, and based on the bidding so far, I'd say he's fooled a few out there. Perhaps the bidders are smarter than we are and are loooking at the potential (let's see, how much to correct the tail lights? the brakes? the radiator? Hummmm.).- Top

Yea, Sure! It is part of that California only remissions system. You know, they are always way ahead of the other states. They probably had laws back then already that you must have back up lights so you can see your way out of the parking lots along the coast where they watch the submarine races, and every car must have no less than 4 working tail, braking ,and turn signal lights (two per side).
