    1955 Camshaft.

I was wondering what camshaft did the 1955 Corvette come with. Was it the same cam as the power pac 1955 Chevrolet or was it a solid lifter
    camshaft?

Solid lifter camshaft, same as the 56 210 and 225hp engines.

If you install a comparable after market cam be SURE you have it notched like the original cam or you don't get any oil to the lifters. 55 265 cam is like no other cam in the Galaxy

Like this - if there's no machined flat like this on the rear journal (and the corresponding 2-hole rear cam bearing), you won't get any oil to the lifters on a '55-'56 V-8.

Not that you would want or need to do so today, but I once used a 56 Duntov cam in a 58 Engine. But you are so right, the other way around is a no no. We learned that one real quick back in the day.
