Re: windshield
No the standard remains the same...deviations from known factory original configuration merit deduction(s). There ARE the handful of folks who've lucked out in having original glass that's in decent condition, had minor marks polished out, or looked hard/long or paid HUGE $$$ to obtain correct/original glass and they should be rewarded/recognized....- Top

Re: windshield
I seem to recall Roy Sinor mentioning a change in the guidance for the shape of the ends of the tint band on midyear windshields at the Judging Seminar at Kissimmee in January, but I haven't seen a follow-up in writing.- Top

Re: windshield
Are we saying here that a new windshield that is correctly dated would get a deduct? (Assuming the tint looks correct, how else can you tell?).
Reason I ask is I still have my original 63 tinted glass and I have given thought about replacing the windshield due to it's chipped and sand blasted condition (makes it hard to see at night). Also, I looked into trying to polish it out some, even went out and bought the compound and wheel. But I was told you will always have swirl marks that are almost as bad.

Stuart,
The problem is that the tint band on the currently available repro windshields will not look correct and it will receive a deduction.- Top
