Interior finish

I have used original windshield post trim in black and I would like to change the color to dark saddle. I have seen some that were painted and they look shiny, almost wet..horrible. Is a dye the way to go and if so, can anyone recommend one?

I just finished spraying my parking brake console with the dye from Corvette Central (saddle). I am very happy with the color and finish. Not shiny at all but like an "egg-shell finish". I have not had any experience with other distributors dyes so wait for others to comment. There may be something even better.

I used Covertte America and Corvette Central dyes with very good results. I sprayed the parts with a touch-up gun and i also used the rattle. I prefer the touch-up gun. I paid about $50.00 for it good luck Mike

I think you're wise trying to use an original piece. I was going to replace my 71's driver's side trim until I saw how many differences there are in the reproductions I looked at. I ended up figuring out how to repair mine.

I just want to say thank you for the link. I bought and used the dye recommended and it turned out wonderful. I am a Pain about my car but, I am really happy with this result. And to everyone here for the wealth of information shared, thanks.
