Copied this picture from a mag and just thought it was to neat not to share. Anyone out there attend this gathering? Just check out all the model years, colors, and fact that so many people are sitting and laying on their cars in their cool 60's cloths. Wish some of our gatherings were a little more laid back like this one!

Re: Really Cool Old Vette Gathering Pic
If you look close, there is a fence along the left-hand side and what looks like a track maybe? It seems that people are perched on their cars facing the fence as if they are all watching something. Guess I really don't need to worry about carrying that homecoming queen on my rear deck in the local parade, as it seems guys are sitting on hoods, roofs, fenders, pretty much wherever they want. Check out how a lot of the guys have on funky hats too!! I agree, the dude laid out on the hood of his car on a blanket seems to have it right!- Top

I have that issue of Corvett News...1966 Vol 9 No. 5. That issue has a couple articles about Sebring in it and a National Council of Corvette Clubs directory. The photo looks like maybe an infield area of a race track...maybe Sebring with the NCCC? The front cover shot is of the Penske #9 car at Sebring.- Top

Re: Really Cool Old Vette Gathering Pic
That's a GREAT picture. It really shows that normal 'car guys' had Corvettes, drove them, and treated them like cars. Maybe a little special, but still just a car.

Re: Really Cool Old Vette Gathering Pic
I believe the Corvette Corral at Sebring was initially sponsored by the NCCC. They encouraged all Corvette owners attending to assemble in the Corral along the track and it has continued for years. All other cars could park in the Paddock or campground areas adjacent to other locations along the track.- Top
