Has anyone ever used Por15 treatment/paint on their chassis. A neighbor recommends it with a passion. I am skeptical.

Re: Almost afraid to ask..but
I think it's great stuff, but haven't lived long enough to give a testimonial that it meets the manufacturer's claims. I do know you shouldn't apply/spill/drip it anywhere you don't want it; if you do, you better wipe it up with lacquer thinner as soon as you can...once it cures, it is REALLY HARD to remove.
Just don't use it anywhere it is visible to judges or exposed to light.: (1) the standard POR15 has no UV resistance, and (2) Corvettes never came with any finish akin to POR15...it cures hard, thick and shiny.- Top

Re: Almost afraid to ask..but
A couple of years ago a magazine I subscribe to, named Auto Restorer, compared POR-15 to Eastwood's Rust Encapsulator. The Eastwood product won, and my experience with both products agrees with this. I don't know that I will ever use POR-15 products again.
Here's the magazine:

Re: Almost afraid to ask..but
POR-15 products are more suitable to hot rods and custom cars. They're not something that should ever be used on a Corvette (unless it happens to fall into the aforementioned categories). I would NEVER, EVER use it.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
