If the rear upper panel was received with the antenna hole pre-drilled, there would be an A.I.M. sheet somewhere indicating that it should be filled, as the UPC 1-14 section deals with "base cars". Neither the Chevrolet A.I.M. nor the A.O. Smith Process Sheet Manual (which is five times thicker) has any such reference, and A.O. Smith documented EVERYTHING.

I'd be skeptical of an L-88 with a "filled" antenna hole.
I agree with John on this. As he mentions, there's no instructions provided for filling the hole but there are instructions for drilling the hole if the car was to be equipped with a radio.
Drilling the hole in ALL the panels, then filling the non radio panels is a definite step backwards for production efficiency. If they actually DID that, I'd be VERY surprised.
Wish I could remember if the Burroughs L88 had a hole filled. I doubt it.

All I know is what I observe. Check it out. We have been looking at L-88 rear transom chalked production #s and ALL the L-88s have an "A' written after the #.This is one of the first things we look at to see if it's a "real deal". We think that this may call attention to the "Antenna" or a message to fill the hole. There's a good picture of this "A" in the 68-72' Dobbins book as well as a picture of a particular method of filling the hole. It's kinda the same idea of L-88's with capacitors (no radio). Many are seen on these real cars.
