    58-62 Door Jamb

Does anybody have or know where to get an illustration of all of the parts that make up the section of the door jamb where the striker plate mounts? The service manual rear body construction section shows the seat filler panel, but not the rest of the parts.

    Roger:
If you want to see the striker and where the door meets the jamb, look at the 58-60 AIM, section F, sheet 5.00. It lays out the entire makeup of the striker, which includes the striker assy, spacer, upper and lower plates, the screws for them and then the plate and retainer (working from outside, in). If you don't have it, send me either a fax or email and I can send you a copy, along with other pages if you need more on the door handle and other areas.

Nice photos. Not an expert here but the rubber bumpers appear too large and deep. I saw Marilyn Heitzman at the Denver Regional critique a Seller for bumpers much smaller than these that she said should be trimmed even smaller. Any comments from the group?

The bumpers compress from use. Look much shorter after being used a while.

              Re: 58-62 Door Jamb

Thanks for the reply. I have previously looked at that illustration in the AIM. There is a part that is not shown there. It goes from the back of the Jamb or seat filler on the top to the rear of the body. There is a screw that goes through this part into the seat filler. It probably was used to hold the part for gluing.
On my 59, this part is broken and part of it is missing. I have a junk door jamb that I am taking apart and want to know how all af the parts go together.
