6 volt coil

I'm at wit's end trying to get spark on my '54. Does anyone have the resistance specifications for 6 volt coils. There would be one for the primary (mine shows 1.7 ohms) and one for the secondary (mine shows 10,000 ohms). My coil is an original, but quite old, Delco unit. I have checked out everything else and assume I have a bad coil.

Just try another coil in place of it and see if that works. You can even use a 12V coil if readily available. If that works you propably have a bad coil.

Run a jumper wire from the battery (+) to the coil side that your harness connects to , not the points ,if it starts it's OK. Or your points are grounded.
