1955 Wheel color

I am finally getting around to acquiring a spare tire for my 55, and I need to paint the wheel. The book says that it should be Sportsman Red, and I would like to know if there is a rattle can color that is close to it?

In all of Louisiana they must have something close sorry I dont know which one ,you show a blue 55 , you also have a red or white one too.

Yes, All 55 wheels, except on Harvest Gold and Corvette Copper cars, were Sportsman Red.

Fenwick, I bought a rattle can of Sportsman Red from Mid-West paint online for $17.00 it is auto enamel in a spray can, color matched. I have yet to find a retail packed paint that came close.

Yes, All 55 wheels, except on Harvest Gold and Corvette Copper cars, were Sportsman Red.

my old 53-55 judging manual(5th edition, fall 2000, states the gypsy red bodys got gypsy red wheels,not sportsman red. mike
