62 routing of temp sender wire

On a 250 horse which side does the temp sender wire run? Are the valve cover clips on the left or right side?

John, An additional thought. The temp clips tell you exactly how to install the LH cover with the clips "up". Also, pay close attention to the fact that those rocker covers are not symetrical, so when you install the RH (pass) side, you need to make sure which way to install the HP sticker and the valve cover. If incorrect, rocker arm to cover contact can result. Best, Dennis

Hard to see correct up and down on RH cover but little O on flange is on top. And yes if cover is upside down rockers will wear holes in cover.

Oh Man! Now that I already have the stickers on the covers, do I need to look for the little "O" somwhere? Is one side of the valve cover a little more upright than the other? Will it clatter a little when I start it up? I'm still in the middle of waiting on a parts order from CC for the water pump bolts. Hopefully I'll be ready to fire it up next week.

The little O is on the top flange, center of cover. Takes a pretty good eye to see the difference between top and bottom of cover. I couldn't hear any noise but hearing is not as good as it used to be. Took about 5000 miles to have annoying oil leak on top of valve cover. Easy to confirm or fix now. Good Luck

Yeah, little "O" is the giveaway. But, if you don't know that, it sho is easy to put that RH HP sticker & cover on upsidedown. Of course, I've never put one on incorrectly, but I've heard of quite a few maroons that have done so...

Wow you guys are right on the button. I never knew this. I'd have gotten the right side wrong for sure. I always loose at blackjack!

Took a few pics of mine for my 62 from the shelf.....You can clearly see the inner sides are straight up, whereas the outer sides are curved. Edge views are front of engine.

                Thanks! Rich

Richard, thanks for your good pictures. I was looking for the "o" on top of the cover where the 327 sticker goes. I had rough sanded my covers and painted them before I read about a potential problem. I believe the top of the cover nearest the intake manifold is a little more upright.
