    1969 427 pulley questions

    Hi,
Is there a difference in size or groove depth between a #3889372 water pump pulley, and a # 3889372BF? There is a #3889372BF for sale on E-bay, which the seller states to be a deep groove pulley. I have that exact pulley on my 69 390hp car. I thought the deep groove pulleys were only used on the solid lifter cars. Also what is the correct crank pulley for my 69 435hp car? Thanks for taking the time to respond. Mark

There is no differences between a 3889372 and a 3889372BF. "BF" is a broadcast code. Most, if not all, have the broadcast code, though. Some later SERVICE might not, though.

The 3889372BF was used for all 1969 big blocks except L-88.

      Joe,
Is the correct crank pulley a #3921923? That is whats on my 390hp. I would assume it was also then used on the 435hp? Mark

The 3921923 is correct for your application. For L-71, the GM #3863108 crank pulley was used. The 3921923 is a stamped steel pulley; the 3863108 is cast iron. Functionally, both pullies are interchangeable.

          Hi Mark
3921923 stamped crank pulley is correct for 69 390 hp 400 hp (I had a 69 400 hp car original and it had the steel crank pulley) For you info if you don't already know. Original stamped 923 pullies have 3 crank bolt holes. Over the counter GM has the 3 main holes and 2 more smaller ones off set drilled, don't know why.
3863108 cast pulley is correct for 69 435hp. I know because my original 69 435hp car had it.
          Thanks, grant
