66 A/C Fan Shroud Extension

Hello,

For late '66 cars with a/c, would the fan shroud extension and hardware have been in place during the painting of the fan shroud and be the same black color?

Also, the AIM shows on p. F269 Sheet B2.5 part #388742 seal and #9985029 wire as maybe going under the extension ring, but I can't find any part like this. Did extension rings have an extra seal stapled to the shroud with this ring?

Does your question imply that your car actually has the extension ring?

I think the reason you have recieved no replies is because no 66 owner I know of has had one , mine included. So if some did , hardly anyone knows what they should look like.

I know for a fact that mine never had one ,as there is no evidence of staple holes or drill holes in the fan shroud.

If you have an original one I would love to see some pictures of it ,along with the fan shroud.
