    84-88 Short Throw shifter arms

Has anyone changed their factory shifter arms to the aftermarket short throw arms? I'd like to change mine on my '85, but I wanted to do some research before doing so. I also understand the issues around PV and the shifter distance, but since I love driving it so I'd be willing to sacrifice the possible point deduct. I am also curious if the short throw arms would make more shifter effort due to the mechanical leverage lost by the shorter arms. And does anyone know if the short arms would harm the transmission synchros? Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rick

I've run "short throw" on mid-years for years without problems with the synchros, just make sure the clutch is all the way down when shifting. Effort goes up but not significantly.
