    fiberglass washer

on a '58, I've been told there is supposed to be a fiberglass washer on both body bolts under the seats, through the floor. Not finding anything in archives or AIM, but maybe I just missed it. thanks for the help

    Re: fiberglass washer

Steven, my '57 had large 'glass reinforcing washers under all four of the bolt heads behind the seats, glued in place using the same type of bonding filler used for all the joints, etc. The inners were 2.5" dia and outers were 2.0" dia, both about .125" thick. None found in the front four locations at the base of the toe board. There are also 2" square .125" thick reinforcements at the rear two bolt locations in the trunk fender wells. I assume '58's were probably similar. Hope this helps.
